Right now my whole world is in chaos. From half packed boxes everywhere to the upcoming week of classes and other art obligations.

If I say I’m a bit frazzled, I’m sure you understand.

One of the things I’ve learned over the years, as someone who often has a team reporting to her, is to know when to delegate. It’s a hard thing to learn but so worth it.

Delegating work initially felt like failure to me. I was determined to do it all, have it all, be it all.

But I learned, with the right people around me, that delegating opened my time up to new and more things. My energy was better spent elsewhere.

I made a move recently, a delegation, that was beyond awesome. So good, in fact, that I wish I had done it years ago.

I hired house cleaners.

Now they were in to help us prep the house for showing, but let me tell you that when I walked into my clean house, one I hadn’t cleaned myself, it felt like love.

Of course the cleaners don’t love me. They don’t even know me. But it felt like a gift I had given to myself. One less thing on my huge to do list.

The feeling was divine.

So right now, while I am in chaos inside, I’m enjoying the serenity in my house.

Now I’m looking around to see what other tasks I can release so I can serenity on the inside too.

If you could, which tasks would you delegate?
