Here’s the latest in my Star Trek reboot series. Lots more videos to look and see the process, as it happened. This painting was incredible to paint from start to finish. Working with the black in the way that I have with this series makes for a rewarding painting session.
My drawings are fairly precise, which helps a lot. I work fast, but detailed enough to know where my colours should be placed. Especially the blacks.
The painting quickly shaped up from the get-go.
And then it was only a matter of adding colour and layering it.
But this point: between peach above and red below, the magic happened. The painting pulled together completely.
